Crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside – these French toast rolls are the perfect comfort food for anyone with a sweet tooth. Whether filled with nut butter, jam, or fruit, they're ready in minutes and taste absolutely heavenly!

Ingredients

    For the Rolls:

  • 8 slices of toast bread, without crusts (see recipe: plain toast bread with KOMEKO TOASTGENUSS)
  • 5 tbsp nut cream (e.g. Nutella)
  • 2 eggs
  • 50 ml milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 1 tbsp butter (for frying)
  • For the cinnamon-sugar mixture:

  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Preparation

  1. Prepare the toasts
    Cut off the crusts and flatten the toast slices using a rolling pin or a glass.
  2. Fill and roll
    Spread a small dollop of nut spread on the bottom third of each toast slice (not too much, so it doesn’t ooze out). Roll up tightly.
  3. Prepare the egg mixture
    In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and vanilla sugar.
  4. Coat the rolls
    Dip the filled toast rolls into the egg mixture until fully coated.
  5. Pan-fry
    Heat butter in a pan over medium heat. Fry the rolls until golden brown on all sides (about 2–3 minutes per side).
  6. Cinnamon sugar topping
    As soon as the rolls come out of the pan, immediately roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Then serve and enjoy!
