Delicate shortcrust cookies with a subtle spice of cardamom, mace, and cloves. Simply rolled out, baked, and sprinkled with sugar—a classic for any coffee table or as a snack during Christmas season.

Ingredients

    For the dough:

  • 250 g KOMEKO KUCHENGLÜCK
  • 125 g sugar
  • 2 Packets of vanilla sugar
  • 1 egg (size M)
  • 150 g cold butter
  • 0.5 tsp cardamom
  • 0.5 tsp mace / nutmeg
  • 0.5 tsp clove
  • Miscellaneous:

  • Milk and sugar for brushing

Preparation

  1. Prepare the dough
    Put the KOMEKO KUCHENGLÜCK flour, sugar, vanilla sugar, egg, spices and butter in a bowl and mix with a hand mixer (dough hook) to form a shortcrust pastry.
  2. Portion the dough
    Divide the dough into three equal portions and shape into balls.
  3. Cool
    Then wrap in cling film and let rest in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  4. Preheat oven
    Preheat oven to 180°C top/bottom heat.
  5. Roll out and cut out
    Roll out the dough thinly (preferably between baking paper and cling film), cut out the cookies and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
  6. Spread
    Brush the cookies with milk and sprinkle with some sugar.
  7. Bake
    Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes and let the baked cookies cool slightly.
  8. Serve and enjoy
