Mulled Wine Apple Crumble

Aromatic apple crumble with cinnamon and mulled wine – a warm dessert for cozy winter days.

For an 18 x 18 cm casserole dish.

Ingredients

    For the crumble:

  • 150 g KOMEKO KNUSPERLUST
  • 50 g brown sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 75 g lactose-free butter
  • For the filling:

  • 600 g apples
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 3 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 100 ml white mulled wine
  • 2 tbsp sugar

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven
    Preheat the oven to 200 °C top/bottom heat (180 °C fan-assisted).
  2. Prepare apples
    Wash and peel apples, cut into bite-sized cubes and mix with brown sugar, lemon juice and cinnamon.
  3. Reduce mulled wine
    Briefly simmer the white mulled wine with 2 tablespoons of sugar in a saucepan until it reduces slightly.
  4. Prepare crumble
    For the crumble: Mix KOMEKO KNUSPERLUST, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add butter pieces and knead until crumbles form.
  5. Put apples into the dish
    Place the apple cubes in a lightly buttered casserole dish (18 x 18 cm) and pour the reduced mulled wine over them.
  6. Spread the crumbles and bake
    Spread the crumble evenly over the apples and bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes.

Our tip: Sprinkle with powdered sugar while still warm or serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
