Apple Rose Tart

This apple rose tart combines a crispy base with a creamy filling and artistic roses on top. Perfect for special occasions or simply to treat yourself. With KOMEKO, it's particularly aromatic and easy to make!

Ingredients

    For the floor:

  • 200 g KOMEKO KNUSPERST
  • 50 g ground almonds
  • 75 g sugar
  • 2 g salt
  • 125 g cold butter
  • 1 egg
  • For the filling:

  • 400 ml milk
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 120 g sugar
  • 2 tbsp vanilla sugar
  • 30 g KOMEKO KUCHENGLÜCK
  • 100 ml cream
  • For the apple roses

  • 7 red apples
  • 200 ml water
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon

Preparation

  1. Prepare the dough:
    Mix the flour KOMEKO KNUSPERLUST, ground almonds, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Add the eggs and diced cold butter. Mix the ingredients with a fork or a hand mixer until a sandy mixture forms. Then knead into a smooth dough and let it rest in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 175°C (top/bottom heat) or 160°C (fan oven).
  2. Tart base:
    Roll out the dough, place it in a greased pan, and prick it a few times with a fork. Then cover the dough with baking paper and place weights (e.g., rice, beans) on top. Bake for 15 minutes.
  3. Prepare the pudding:
    Heat milk, sugar, vanilla sugar, egg yolks and KOMEKO KUCHENGLÜCK while stirring until the mixture thickens considerably. Stir in the cream until creamy. Then cover and refrigerate.
  4. Prepare apples:
    Quarter, core, and thinly slice the apples. Heat the sugar, water, and cinnamon and sauté the apple slices for about 1 minute.
  5. Shaping apple roses:Wrap the slices overlapping with the red shell facing outwards (smaller slices inside and larger ones outside).
  6. Finish the tart:
    Pour the filling into the base, place the apple roses on top and bake for 30–35 minutes.
