Ingredients

    For the dough:

  • 2 Eggs
  • 200 g sugar
  • 200 ml vegetable oil
  • 10 g red food coloring
  • 200 g KOMEKO KUCHENGLÜCK
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1 Vanilla pod (seed)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 120 ml buttermilk
  • For the frosting:

  • 225 g cream cheese
  • 115 g butter (softened)
  • 360 g powdered sugar
  • Raspberry or strawberry sauce

Preparation

  1. Prepare the dough
Preheat oven to 180°C (top/bottom heat). Beat eggs until frothy, slowly adding the sugar. Add the vegetable oil and stir in.
  2. Add color
Now slowly add the food coloring. Depending on the food coloring, you may need a little more or less. Follow the package instructions.
  3. Mix dry ingredients
In a bowl mis KOMEKO KUCHENGLÜCK flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, vanilla pulp and a pinch of salt.
  4. Finish the dough
Add the dry ingredients alternately with the buttermilk to the egg and sugar mixture and mix everything well.
  5. Baking cupcakes
Pour the batter into paper muffin cups or a muffin tin. Bake the muffins in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 10-15 minutes. Then remove from the oven and let cool.
  6. Prepare the frosting
For the frosting, beat the cream cheese and softened butter with the powdered sugar until fluffy.
  7. Decorating cupcakes
Fill a piping bag with the frosting and spread it evenly on the cupcakes. Make sure the cupcakes are completely cooled, otherwise the frosting will melt.
  8. Create a scary effect
For the “bloody” effect, spread some raspberry or strawberry sauce on the frosting.

Our tip:Decorate your red velvet cupcakes with a slice of icing glass or small sugar decorating knives for an extra spooky effect! 😊
