This orange cake brings the taste of the South straight to your kitchen! The fresh orange juice and delicate zest create a wonderfully fruity aroma that harmonizes perfectly with the gentle sweetness of brown sugar. With a touch of Grand Marnier and candied orange peel, the cake becomes a little indulgent treat—ideal for afternoon tea or as a dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 pcs. Orange
  • 120 g butter
  • 120 g brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 250 g KOMEKO KUCHENGLÜCK
  • 1 Pack of baking powder
  • Candied orange peel (to taste)
  • 2 El Grand Marnier

Preparation

  1. Prepare the dough:
    Preheat oven to 180°C (fan). Finely grate the orange zest and squeeze out the juice. Cream the butter and sugar until creamy, then beat in the eggs one at a time. Add the orange zest, KOMEKO KUCHENGLÜCK flour and baking powder and mix until smooth. Add candied orange peel to taste.
  2. Bake:
    Pour the batter into a buttered and floured loaf pan and bake for about 40 minutes. Test for doneness with a wooden skewer.
  3. After baking:
    Immediately drizzle the cake with orange juice.
  4. Serve and enjoy: Bon appetit!
